Whether you’re a beginning investor or a seasoned pro, you have to know how to manage risk; big businesses have to do it and so do you. It’s a common misconception that you can eliminate risk by not investing your money. The truth is burying your money in hole in the ground carries more risk. You need to worrying about someone else finding it or your money could get damaged beyond repair. More importantly, by not investing you are exposing yourself to inflationary risk. If inflation is humming along at 4% it means that your un invested money just lost 4% of its purchasing power. In other words, you can now buy 4% less wheat, for example then you previously could. The only way you can eliminate that risk is by investing your money in something that you expect will outpace inflation, or at least keep up with it.

Market Volatility and Risk

The stock market goes up, and the stock market goes down, but it never stays the same; at least for any period of time. There are hundreds of reasons the market will be up on a given day, and just as many reasons for it to be down. You can lower your exposer to risk related to market volatility by your choice of investments. For example, stocks paying dividends tend to be less volatile. Not only will they not drop as much in a down market, they won’t go up quite as high in an up market. When investors start sustaining huge losses in their portfolios, some of those losses are mitigated by the large dividends they receive on their stocks that pay dividends.

You can also lower your overall risk through diversification across the different sectors of the market like durable goods, technology, health care, and financial services for example. That way if the market is experiencing a down day not every sector may be down. While your technology and financial stocks are down, your health care and durable goods may be up and it will balance out your losses.

One of the surest ways you can lower your exposure to the risk that comes with the volatility of the market is to hold on to your investments for longer periods of time. If your timeline is only 6 months you don’t have time to weather much market volatility. On the other hand, if you can stay invested for a period of years you will have time to ride out the ups and downs of a typical market. The longer you stay invested the greater volatility you can endure and still have a chance for some pretty decent returns.

The Crash of 2000

When investors got hammered in the market when the tech bubble burst in March of 2000, then again with the terrorist attacks in 2001 the only thing to do was to just hold on. The general indices made much of those losses back only to lose those gains in 2008-09. For those investors who didn’t panic sell have been well rewarded as the Dow has once more topped 14,000. Once again the point is driven home. The longer you are able to stay invested the more market ups and downs you can handle. People holding on to stocks in 2000 had to wait till 2007 to gain back much of their losses. Having said that, time in the market cannot erase all risk. There are a number of technology stocks with solid business models and sound management that lost 70 and 80 percent of their market cap and have come nowhere near the levels they were before March of 2000. Sun Microsystems (JAVA) for example was nearing $70 before the crash and may not reach those levels in many of our lifetimes. That’s just more evidence for having a diversified portfolio because while some stocks my never reach their highs before the crash many others have come back to respectable levels.

So You Can Sleep at Night

When you invest no one can tell you what is too risky or not. You’re the one who has to sleep at night, and what may be too volatile for you may be just fine for someone else. Do everything you can to mitigate risk, then know that you are going to take your losses from time to time. If you stay invested long enough you will no doubt make money. It’s not timing the market that counts, but time in the market that’s important. If you traced the S&P 500 back since the 1950’s there has never been a 20 period where it has lost money, and that’s about as much of guarantee as you’re going to ever get out of the stock market.

There are many considerations that come with traveling abroad: making sure the passport is in order, purchasing traveler’s checks, double checking hotel and flight reservations, etc. And in today’s mobile age, travelers can add “smartphone management” to that checklist. Few people these days go anywhere without their mobile device, and most are going to take it with them while traveling internationally. The issue that arises is one of cost. It can be very expensive to use a smartphone abroad.

The good news is that, with a little pre-planning, smartphone users can mitigate the costs that come along with schlepping their mobile to a far-flung locale. Here are some quick tips to accomplish just such cash savings.

Buy an International Data Package

Most major carriers offer international data packages for purchase, and they are well worth the cost. Anyone who travels abroad and uses their regular service will accrue roaming charges, and these will likely be exorbitant. Most carriers offer various global data packages that cover most time frames and can accommodate most budgets. It helps for the user to go over their monthly bill for data usage in order to determine their minimum needs while traveling abroad.

Track usage in the country

Regardless of whether or not the traveler purchases a data plan, it is still vital to monitor exact data usage in order to stay on top of charges. Some devices, like the iPhone, have their own data usage trackers, and even if they don’t the communication manager software for the device likely will. Smartphone users can also download data-tracking apps that will serve this purpose.

Curb email usage

One great way to save on data charges is to disable the smartphone’s auto-check function for its email program. This simple tweak can greatly cut down on overall data used throughout the course of a trip. Instead of having the smartphone check for emails, users can do it themselves by utilizing Wi-Fi hot spots – which won’t accrue data charges. Areas with Wi-Fi can be found in airports, cafes and hotels throughout the world.

Turn data roaming off

This is a good way to allow for a smartphone user to make calls without using data. For most smartphones, the default roaming position is in the “OFF” position, but it won’t hurt to make sure. Users can check by accessing their Settings menu and navigating to the Network section. It’s there they can toggle roaming off and on.

That said, even with data roaming in the “OFF” position, most smartphones will charge international roaming rates for text and pic/video messages.

These are just a few things international travelers should keep in mind when visiting other countries with their smartphones. There’s also no need to worry about finding an international data package when visiting smaller or less-travelled countries. That’s because most carriers offer international packages that will function in nearly 150 countries throughout the world.

Traveling to Carnival in Rio de Janeiro next year? Or may you want to attend the Summer Olympics in 2016? Either or, you need to know just a passport will not suffice to visit Brazil. United States citizens need to know a visa is required. Even if your flight is just touching down in Brazil for a connection to another country, you must have a visa. Throughout South America, a passport is adequate to get you in and, hopefully, out of every country for a limited stay. Some require a tourist card, mostly to shake a bit of hard currency from the tourists. Surinam offers a 90 day tourist card for $25, but Brazil wants your passport, money and passport sized photographs. Brazil makes their visa requirements as strict as your country is for visas to Brazilians. So for citizen of the United States, a tourist visa can be $160. The length of the visa is also reciprocated, so you can have a five to ten year visa to visit.

Paraguay has a similar visa program to Surinam, a tourist card for a 90 day visit can be purchased at the airport for $100-$160. Argentina required a visa from US citizens during the Falklands War in retaliation for the US government supporting Britain in the conflict. The visa requirement lasted not much longer than the war. A tourist card is required now. Typically it runs $160, is available at the airport and is good for multiple entries for ten years. Chile has a similar requirement for passengers for their first entry by air, again about $160. You might want a new passport as the visa expires on the same day as your passport.

Bolivia has unique rules. You can stay for 90 days and as a US citizen normally you will receive a triple entry visa at the airport. The visa is for three visits a year for a ninety day total in a year for the following five years. You will need a visa application, a copy of your schedule out of Bolivia, demonstrate you can afford to stay, a hotel reservation or invitation from your host and two passport size photographs. If you pay the $135 fee in advance you can use a money order. If you pay in person at the border, the $135 must be in new bills, old or marked are not acceptable. Anyone over one year old must have proof of a yellow fever vaccination for a visa. Make sure, especially if arriving by land, the customs official stamps your passport or there could be a problem with checkpoints and your departure,

So if all you have is your passport and you don’t want to pay for a visa there are still several countries to visit. Request brochures from Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Uruguay and surprisingly – Venezuela. Most countries require a minimum of six months validity and at least one blank page in your passport. Peru offers a 183 day stay without a visa, but most countries have a 90 day limit. Have your return passage handy. Most customs officials like proof that you will be eventually leaving.

One of the great things about booking a catered chalet in the lovely French resort village of La Tania is its physical location between Courchevel and Meribel as part of the Three Valleys. The resort of La Tania was developed for the Albertville Olympics of 1992 and there is a lovely atmosphere in the town that has stayed around ever since. The heart of the town is easy to get to from a catered chalet along the outskirts, tucked into the woods, and the centre is traffic free.

The village has everything you need in the heart of it, from shops to a few restaurants and bars and even postal and tourist offices. Of the Three Valleys, La Tania is considered to be “New Born” and it is small and perfectly formed. Being based here for your winter holiday will give you the chance to try out cross country skiing or snow-shoeing on the days that you don’t want to hit the slopes and really take advantage of the huge network of the three linked resorts.

Cross country skiing and snow-shoeing

If you want to stay off the downhill slopes but don’t want to get off your skis, then consider leaving your catered chalet for an afternoon and hitting the cross country skiing trails. Since La Tania is between Courchevel and Meribel, it is on the trails which connect the two. You can have your choice of the seventy kilometre trip to Courchevel or the forty kilometre one to Meribel.

The cross country trails are well maintained and are free of charge to use, but take care when crossing the downhill slopes, as the trails are sometimes forced to do. If cross country skiing seems a bit too much for you, then go into the town and rent a set of snow shoes and take to the hills. There are many trails in and around La Tania that are prefect for a hike in these cool and classic snow shoes. While hiking, taking time to stop and enjoy the views over the valley.

Skiing

One of the main draws of the area of La Tania is the exceptional skiing it offers. Apart from being a great place to book a catered chalet that is off the main resort trails of the Three Valleys, La Tania offers a variety of skiing opportunities for all levels. If you are one of the more advanced skiers and really know what you are doing and enjoy pushing the limits, then check out the off piste skiing nearby.

With over six hundred kilometres of pistes in the Three Valleys area, you will have no trouble finding a challenge as you ski. If you have some experience but are not wanting to go off piste, then the area directly above La Tania is quite good for blue and red intermediate slopes that can both test your skill and make you feel like you are still in control. If you are just getting into skiing there is also a selection of nursery slopes and green slopes that are near the village and even provide direct access to the centre, all the better to learn to ski on.

The Whiskey a go-go, the Roxy and the Troubadour are night clubs with small venues and where history was made over and over again. From the 1950’s to the 1980’s and really beyond these places ruled the west coast music scene. If you were going to be anybody you had to play here.

The Troubadour was the first to open its doors when Doug Weston debuted his club on La Cienega Boulevard in 1957 and moved it to its present West Hollywood location on Santa Monica Boulevard shortly thereafter. The folk music scene was in high gear and the club, which bordered Beverly Hills on famous Doheny Drive was right in the middle of it.

One of the most famous incidents to occur there in 1961 was the arrest of comedian Lenny Bruce who uttered a Yiddish curse word on stage and was arrested for it. Among the arresting officers was Sherman Block who later became the sheriff of Los Angeles County.

While it now claims the recent discovery of many British acts including Radiohead and Coldplay, in its heyday the West Hollywood venue was home to Elton John, Linda Ronstadt, Van Morrison, Jackson Brown, Buffalo Springfield, Carole King, James Taylor and Neil Diamond. It was Diamond who introduced Elton who played his first U-S show there in August 1970.

A year after the Troubadour debuted, Whiskey A Go-Go opened in 1958 in Chicago based on a French club. In 1964 a franchise opened its doors in West Hollywood ushering in the British invasion. Elmer Valentine and his legal partners who founded the American version would later open a third Whiskey in the Washington D-C area.

Whiskey was billed as the first American discotheque and featured lots of dancing. Among the highlights were professional dancers in cages high above the dance floor. It is a scene recreated in every film about the era when the characters decide to go clubbing.

In 1966 The Doors were the house band and Motley Crue pretty much kicked its career into high gear when the band played the club. Among the others who got going at Whiskey were Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Their performance got them a record contract. The Turtles, Van Morrison, Kinks, Led Zeppelin and Alice Cooper all made crowds crazy at Whiskey.

The Whiskey had its share of bad news too. When riots broke out on Sunset Strip the club was in the middle of it in 1966. Los Angeles County ordered the club’s name changed and it was for a while to just “Whisk” but that was long before West Hollywood incorporated and became its own city. The Whiskey is a landmark now.

The Roxy is newer but just as famous as the others. Elmer Valentine and partner Lou Adler were again instrumental in opening this club, just like the Whiskey before it. They founded the Roxy in 1973 along with David Geffen who went onto become one of the biggest producers in Hollywood.

The first week the club opened the doors Neil Young and The Santa Monica Flyers played there while three months later Genesis original band starring Peter Gabriel followed. It is also known for offering up the seedier side of the entertainment business.

While the Rocky Horror Picture Show stage version made its first American run at the club in 1974, in 1981 a struggling comedian with a raunchy act turned his talents to the Roxy stage. This was long before Paul Reubens was known as Pee Wee Herman. Other comedians who showcased their talents at the Roxy included Phil Hartman and Elayne Boosler.

John Lennon and lots of famous friends hosted parties arranged by the Madam to the Stars, Heidi Fleiss there in the 1980’s and probably the most infamous moment known to the club involved John Belushi’s fatal night. It was one of his last stops before he overdosed and died in a seedy hotel room not far away.

On the positive side Bruce Springsteen recorded nine songs live at the Roxy for one of his powerful albums, the Red Hot Chili Peppers recorded there as did George Benson and Bob Marley whose album “Live at the Roxy” was critically acclaimed.

The three nightclubs/music venues are a must stop during any visit to West Hollywood. You might see some great upcoming talent during your visit.

If RV camping is great, then RV camping near a beach is ecstasy. There, you have the opportunity for some great outdoor recreation (frequently within walking distance), positively breathtaking sunrise/sunset scenery, and often nearby amusements, such as theme parks. To top it off, you can’t beat the money you save by basically bringing your living accommodations with you as opposed to paying the inordinately expensive rental rates of resort properties.

With that in mind, here are five great RV parks near some great beaches right here in the United States. Get ready to pack up and have a great time of fun and sun!

1. Myrtle Beach Travel Park

Myrtle Beach is a fabulous family destination for people on the east coast. At Myrtle Beach Travel Park, you can build some great memories with the ones you love.

The park has an outdoor pool which even includes – wait for it – a lazy river! Lazy rivers are a staple in Myrtle Beach, so even though this one may come as a surprise to many RV aficionados, it won’t come as a surprise to people familiar with the popular tourist destination.

The park also features a potpourri of great activities, including live bands, kid’s crafts, shag dance lessons, and…. um… rubber duck races?

You’ll also be within walking distance of the beach. That’s important, right?

2. Hatteras Sands Campground

Just a little to the north of Myrtle Beach is Hatteras Sands Campground, on the world-famous Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Hatteras Campground is not only a great RV park, it also puts you within spitting distance of one of the greatest fishing fleets that the world has ever seen. So, if you’re up for a little offshore big game excursion, you’re in the right place.

However, if you’re more of a landlubber, fret not. The park has some great fishing and crabbing right there in the local canals. Listen to the experience of another parent: Kids will love crabbing.

3. Grassy Key RV Park And Resort

As the name implies, Grassy Key RV Park And Resort is located in the Florida Keys. It’s located in Marathon, to be precise.

Bring your own boat to this one. The park features dockage that provides access to the Gulf Of Mexico. In this case, you can do your own fishing, on your own terms, without paying for a charter. Alternatively, you can just go dolphin watching.

This park also boasts of an outdoor pool, picnic tables, beach games, and everything you would expect in a tropical atmosphere. Oh, yeah. You can bring your pets, too.

4. Bay View Campground

Bay View Campground is in beautiful Cape Cod, Massachusetts. According to the web site, it’s rated “double five star” by Woodall’s Camping Directory. If you stay here, you will be near the gorgeous beaches and the Cape Cod Canal.

The campground also features three pools, an ice cream parlor, softball games, ping pong tournaments, water wiffleball, family Nerf field hockey, and something called “adult mystery bingo”. Imaginations may wander about some of the campground’s offerings, but the bottom line is this: you’ll have plenty to do.

5. Ocean Mesa At El Capitan

Here’s one for those of you on the west coast. This RV park is located in Santa Barbara, California. At this site you’ll not only get to enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty in the form of the Pacific Ocean, but also the Los Padres National Forest.

You’ll also experience the best in modern camping life. The campground has a pool, a spa, laundry facilities, and a convenience store. You can also enjoy hiking, live music with the Canyon Concert Series, wine country tours, and rock climbing.

Conclusion

While there are certainly more than five great RV parks near beaches in this country, these five are among the best. Feel free to browse their web sites, make some inquiries, and visit one or more of them on your next road trip. You won’t be disappointed.

There are so many websites nowadays, you may feel lost in the masses. Using the tips in this article can help you remain ahead of the curve. There’s no point having fantastic content if no one sees it. Take some tips here to increase traffic to your site and create a bold and viable presence on the Internet.

Use social media for SEO. These social outlets allow you to reach out to your customers in real time, making their experience more personal.

Content is key in search engine optimization. You need to aim for content that is unique, long enough, keyword driven and well written. Do not overlook the importance of proper spelling and grammar. To make a dent in search engine rankings, strong content is key.

TIP! You can improve your ranking on search results pages by offering an abundance of content that covers different ideas within a given niche. For a blog about food, cover everything from exotic new foods to cooking methods to recommended restaurants or shows.

Search Engine Optimization

It is critical that you remain aware of your standings in the search engines, when it comes to search engine optimization. By monitoring your progression, you will understand if search engine optimization techniques are producing results or if there is something you need to change. Monitor your page ranking using Alexa or Google’s toolbar.

Search engine optimization is a core online marketing concept. By using keywords and phrases, you increase your search engine rankings. When you do this, people searching for your chosen keywords are more likely to end up at your website.

TIP! You should implement web analytics before you start optimizing your website. You will have to invest in an analytics software package and have it in place.

Setting up pay-per-clicks is a very effective and efficient affiliate marketing strategy. This is the easiest service to provide to affiliates, so the pay is correspondingly modest, but it can rapidly build up.

What you put in your title tags is important. For the best results, make use of your chosen keywords. Title tags such as this, should be incorporated for every page throughout your site to link each together. If you are working with a corporate site, make sure the name of the corporation appears in the title tag of each page. Unless your company’s name is very well known, people aren’t that likely to enter it into search engines.

To choose the best keywords for your search engine optimization strategy you must think like someone who would want to find your website, not someone who already knows what’s there. Determine the relevant terms visitors are using when they use search engines.

TIP! Optimizing your business for search engines is how you optimize your business for customers. Many business to not take this into account when developing their website.

Search Engines

Search engines will know that you are fixing your site to cheat the system and will take appropriate action. At times, large search engines, such as Yahoo and Google, have completely eliminated companies from their search results! Be aware of the methods you use to optimize your search engine rankings.

Get listed for free with Google and Yahoo! to increase your publicity. These services promote your business for free, which means more people will be able to find your site. Don’t turn away free publicity.

TIP! Strategic keyword placement within your online content gets noticed by search engines that can boost your traffic. The best place to put your main keywords is in the first visible content on your site.

You should correctly anchor your text when internally linking on your site. You should avoid vague and generic text links like “click here” because it is not helpful in increasing your search engine ranking. Spiders focus on keywords, so if you pick out the most appropriate keywords for your content, they will count your anchor text towards your overall relevancy.

To get hyperlinks to your website, make comments on blogs. If you deliver a well-written and appropriate piece of writing, the blog owner may allow you to have your link there. Do not get into the habit of spamming blogs that are not relevant to your topic with links, and do not post the link with nothing to back it up. If you are very knowledgeable about your topic then other webmasters will appreciate any input you may have and will be happy to read your comments and allow you to post your link on their page.

It is important that your website is memorable in the clutter of the Internet. This article provides a few excellent tips that can significantly increase the value of your website, and the traffic your website receives. Make time every week for putting these tips to work.

TIP! Image links rarely play a role in search engine optimization. Image links do not offer search engines any more than a URL for the linked file.

One of the popular loans that people have today is the secured personal loan that is chosen by most people that have enough assets to be used as a pledge for the money that they are planning to borrow. The loan is secured through the property or the asset that the borrower is providing for as collateral for the money that they are asking. Because the transaction is secured, the borrower should comply with the paying process if he or she would not want his or her property to be to be taken by the lender.

If in case the borrower chooses his or her home to be the collateral for the personal loan, then the lender will take the home if the borrower is not able to pay for the money that he or she had borrowed. The home that was taken into the possession of the borrower will be taken to foreclosure, making the borrower lose the property and find a new one. Once the home is taken by the lender, it can be completely sold to interested people for the lender to regain the money that the borrower didn’t pay out. Though the property is already under the name of the lender, the borrower still has a small right of what he or she wants to happen for the property.

If in case the money that was paid for the collateral is not enough, the lender has the right to have any other property to complete the amount of money borrowed from the lender. It is important that the borrower is ready for this kind of problem especially when they know that they are not that capable to pay for what they had borrowed. The borrower should be careful with choosing a particular property that he or she is choosing as collateral for their unsecured personal loan to make sure that they will not regret losing it if in case they cannot pay the amount that they have borrowed.

The lender will firstly also evaluate the collateral of the borrower with their personal loan. If the collateral is not enough and the borrower does not have any property, then the money that he or she can borrow can be fitted only with the property that he or she can give as a pledge or guarantee. Though the process may seem complicated, there are still many people who are choosing this loan due to its level of security.

Apple has a runaway success with the iPad. For this reason, it’s silly to think that anyone with a cracked iPad screen could trust just anyone to repair it. Why would you do this when you can get Apple like new quality repairs? All you have to do to find the top companies with the right credentials, and that’s not difficult.

Apple or a 3rd Party for iPad Repair?

It’s true; Apple does not provide in-store repairs for the iPad. You would think that a large company like Apple would just put up iPhone and iPad repair centers around the world to take care potential problems. But this is not their model.

Instead, they take care of their own customers for one year by providing swap-out services for broken or faulty iPads. Then, they encourage smaller companies to train with them and set up their own business. Now that’s pretty nifty, right?

The fact is Apple that the iPad is a very high quality product and rarely needs repair. It speaks extremely well of the brand and its deserving reputation. However, there are a number of units that do experience problems – mostly from accidental glass damage. How many times have you seen an iPad with cracked glass?

If you are thinking of trooping to a non-accredited service center to repair iPad glass, use caution. Many repair shops could do more damage to the unit — or they could even exchange authentic parts for fake parts. These are things that would never happen with an Apple authorized repairs.

Internet based iPad Repairs – A Sign of the Times

Many consumers, schools, and companies are very satisfied with mail order repairs for the iPad. Over the years, this type of service has become mainstream and popular. Your repaired iPad screen is mailed back to you within just a few days. With most mail-in service, you can get a company with affordable prices for the repair. The savings on overhead helps them to lower costs and pass on some of the savings in lower prices.

We do suggest USA based companies – rather than somewhere around the world. This is another reason why you need to verify location and contact details. In addition, you have to verify that when you call someone, they’re not a call center from halfway across the world. Fortunately, the Apple authorized repairs are done with a quality standard you can trust. But still look at online reviews to see how other customers’ rate their iPad repair
